Cookie Policy

What is a Cookie?

A cookie is a harmless text file stored in your browser when you visit almost any website. The purpose of a cookie is to allow the website to remember your visit when you return. Although many people are unaware, cookies have been in use for over 20 years, dating back to the first web browsers on the World Wide Web.

What a Cookie is NOT

It is not a virus, trojan, worm, spam, spyware, nor does it open pop-up windows.

What Information Does a Cookie Store?

Cookies generally do not store sensitive information about you, such as credit card or banking details, photographs, ID numbers, or personal information. They store technical data, personal preferences, content customization, and similar information.

The web server associates cookies with your browser, not with you personally. For example, if you usually browse with Internet Explorer and then visit the same site using Firefox or Chrome, the website will not recognize you as the same person because it tracks the browser, not the individual.

Types of Cookies

  • Technical Cookies: These are essential cookies that allow the site to distinguish between humans and automated applications, identify anonymous versus registered users, and perform basic functions for any dynamic website.

  • Analytics Cookies: These collect information about how you navigate the site, which sections you use most, products viewed, time of use, language, etc.

  • Advertising Cookies: These display advertisements based on your browsing activity, country, language, and other factors.

First-Party and Third-Party Cookies

  • First-party cookies are generated by the website you are visiting.

  • Third-party cookies are generated by external services or providers, such as Facebook, Google, etc.

What Happens If I Disable Cookies?

Disabling cookies may have the following effects:

  • You will not be able to share content from the site on Facebook or any other social network.

  • The website will not be able to adapt content to your personal preferences, as online stores often do.

  • You will not be able to access personal areas, such as My Account, My Profile, or My Orders.

  • Online shopping will be impossible; purchases will need to be made by phone or in-store.

  • Your geographic preferences (time zone, currency, language) will not be saved.

  • The website will not be able to perform web analytics, making it harder to remain competitive.

  • You will not be able to post on blogs, upload photos, comment, or rate content. The site will also not know whether you are a human or an automated spam application.

  • Targeted advertising will not be shown, reducing the website’s ad revenue.

  • All social networks use cookies; if disabled, you will not be able to use them.

Can Cookies Be Deleted?

Yes. Cookies can be deleted or blocked, either globally or for a specific domain.

To delete cookies for a website, go to your browser’s settings, locate the cookies associated with the domain, and remove them.
